Our Birth
In 2016, a group of passionate students at the University of Lagos recognized a critical gap, the disconnect between academic finance theory and real-world practice. What began as informal discussions about markets and investments among friends quickly grew into something bigger.
The Investment Society (TIS) was founded with a singular vision: to create a student-led community that bridges the gap between classroom learning and professional finance. From our first meeting with just 15 members, we established a culture of intellectual rigor, peer-to-peer learning, and a relentless pursuit of financial literacy.
Today, TIS UNILAG stands as the premier student-run financial society at the University of Lagos, a community of future leaders in investing, finance, and consulting. Our members have gone on to secure positions at top financial institutions, consulting firms, and tech companies across the globe.
